Independent AI cost intelligence

AIOPLY is an independent AI pricing comparison platform. We keep one verified dataset of API rates across every major model provider, check it daily against published rate cards, and build every cost calculator, comparison, and research piece on top of it.

01 / Why we exist

Teams buy AI without knowing what it costs

Most teams discover the real cost of an AI feature after the first full month of traffic. By then the model is wired into production, the prompt is long, and the cheaper option that would have handled the same workload was never evaluated.

We started AIOPLY after repeatedly rebuilding the same spreadsheet: provider rates in one column, expected token volume in another, and a monthly figure at the bottom that nobody could reproduce a week later. The spreadsheet became a dataset, the dataset became a set of calculators, and the calculators became this site.

Everything here answers one question in plain numbers: what will this workload cost per request, per day, and per month, and is there a model that does the same job for less.

02 / How we work

Our data and research method

One source of record

Every model has a single record: input and output rates per million tokens, cached input rates, context window, maximum output, capabilities, release date, and lifecycle status.

Daily reconciliation

A scheduled job compares our stored rates against a live pricing feed each night. Changes are written with a timestamp, so every page can show when its numbers were last confirmed.

Documented sources

Prices trace back to published provider rate cards and official documentation. Research articles link to those primary sources so readers can verify any figure themselves.

Shared calculation logic

Calculators are generated from one definition and read the same dataset, so a token estimate on a tool page matches the figure quoted in an article or comparison table.

03 / Independence

No provider pays for placement

We do not resell model access, run an affiliate programme with model providers, or accept payment to rank one platform above another. Advertising keeps the site free, and advertising has no influence on the dataset or on which model a calculator recommends.

When a cheaper model handles a workload as well as an expensive one, our tools say so. When a provider raises prices, the change appears in the dataset the same night it is published. Corrections are welcome and we publish them rather than quietly edit them.

04 / Publishing standards

What you can expect from every page

  • Written and reviewed by people, with worked examples rather than generic advice.
  • Every price on the page traceable to the provider documentation it came from.
  • Clear last-verified dates so readers know how current a figure is.
  • Plain language, no exaggerated claims, and no invented benchmarks or testimonials.
  • Calculations you can reproduce by hand from the numbers shown.
  • Corrections applied across the dataset, not patched on a single page.
05 / Common questions

Questions readers ask about us

Who runs AIOPLY?

AIOPLY is run by a small independent team with backgrounds in software engineering and cloud cost analysis. We build and maintain the pricing dataset, the calculators, and the written research ourselves.

How does AIOPLY make money?

The site is free to use and supported by advertising. We do not resell model access, and no provider pays for placement, ranking, or a favourable review.

Where does the pricing data come from?

Rates are taken from published provider rate cards and reconciled daily against a live pricing feed. Every model record stores the date it was last verified.

How do I report an incorrect price?

Use the contact page. Corrections are checked against the provider's own documentation and, when confirmed, applied to the dataset and reflected across every calculator.

Found a price that looks wrong?

Send it over with a link to the provider page. We check every report and update the dataset when the correction is confirmed.
