How it works
Claude pricing is tiered by model class. Haiku handles routine classification and extraction, Sonnet covers most production coding and agent work, and Opus is reserved for the hardest reasoning.
Routing the easy 80% of traffic to Haiku while keeping Opus for escalations usually cuts total spend by more than half without a visible quality drop.
